Como configurar paginação

Olá galera

Estou fazendo um site que terá uma área de sala de imprensa, onde terá 3 categorias de artigos 1 videos, 2 áudios, 3 clipping. Preciso exibir os artigos Separados por categorias e a quantidade de artigos é alta por tanto preciso de um sistema de paginação para organizar a navegação.
Instalei vários módulos de display de noticias mas não consegui ajustar a paginação, então usei uma função nativa do joomla para organizar meus artigos. Criei um item de menu de "Layout Padrão de Artigo", exibiu corretamente os artigos um embaixo do outro e a paginação correta <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Rindo" /><!-- s:lol: -->. Ai descobri um problema: Os artigos de clipping possuem imagens grandes e quando os artigos são exibidos em fila vertical a imagem do artigo fica desproporcional na lista de artigos com na imagem abaixo <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_sad.gif" alt="" title="Triste" /><!-- s:( -->



O que preciso:

1 Uma configuração que redimensione a imagem como um thumbnail nativo do joomla.

2 Um módulo que organize artigos (tipo News Show Pro GK4 ou Aida News) que contenha sistema de paginação numérica na parte inferior
