Salvar Log ao fazer alterações em artigos

Boa noite pessoal;

Estou precisando da ajuda de vocês, como poder gravar o que os usuários fazem nos artigos.
Por exemplo ao criar um artigo o mesmo joomla me informa alguns dados importantes, tais como: data da criação, data da última edição, quem é o autor,etc.
Até ai tudo bem, só que aconteceu um problema aqui no meu trabalho onde alguém fez una edição do artigo de forma errada, e outra pessoa corrigiu o problema (isso aconteceu 3 vezes), só que como informa o ID da última pessoa que fez o cambio e não se quem fez isso antes dele (penúltimo ID).
Ai que aconteceu a dúvida, queria saber se existe a possibilidade de fazer um "Histórico" de quem fez as mudanças no artigo, saber o que foi modificado, a date das modificações, sei que na tabela content e a tabela users consigo trazer os dados, por exemplo:

SELECT c.id, c.title, c.created, c.modified, c.created_by, c.version, c.introtext, c.modified_by, u.`name` from j15_content c, j15_users u where c.created_by = u.id;

Ai pense que cada vez que o usuário fazer Click no botão "Salvar" e/ou "Editar" fazer com que esses dados seja gravados em una tabela por exemplo j15_historico, dessa forma consigo saber quem fez a alteração e qual foi o conteúdo modificado por que teria a versão e o texto (introtext) salvo a cada ação dos botões.

Estive olhando o código do arquivo: administrator/components/com_content/admin.contem.html.php
existe a funcão "function submitbutton(pressbutton)" donde passo a ação dos botões (salvar, editar, cancelar) que após fazer todo o tratamento envia as informações para a função "function save( $editor )" en: libraries/joomla/html/editor.php

Ai fiquei pedido!! Queria saber como poderia fazer para salvar esses dados em una tabela aparte.
